I cannot recommend Rachael at Southwest Dental Specialist Centre highly enough. As someone who has struggled with severe dental anxiety since childhood due to a traumatic experience, finding a dentist I could trust felt almost impossible—until I met Rachael. From my very first appointment with her a couple of years ago, she put me at ease with her friendly, professional, and compassionate approach. She takes the time to explain everything she’s doing, and I’ve never felt any pain or discomfort in her care. Recently, I had to visit Rachael's new practice for a check-up, clean, and to address a slight toothache. She discovered I needed to have a tooth removed, and I immediately felt my anxiety rising. However, Rachael was incredible—she noticed my fear, calmly explained the procedure, and even showed me images of what was happening in my mouth to help me feel more in control. Today, I had that tooth removed, and while I was scared, Rachael's kindness and reassurance gave me the courage to go through with it. I am so proud of myself for overcoming my fear, and I owe it all to Rachael's caring and understanding manner. I have had very positive dental experiences with Dr Rachael Hogen-Esch. The most significant (to me); being removal of a cracked wisdom tooth; this went very well as did my recovery. Dr Rachael has a lovely manner.

I have been seeing an excellent prosthodontist in Perth in conjunction with an oral surgeon for well over 20 years and was thrilled when he recommended Rachel. He hasn’t lost a patient entirely (yet!) but after my third visit to Southwest Dental Specialist Center, I am fully convinced that Mandurah has gained a very valuable member of the medical community and will perform a much needed role in the field of dentistry particularly now, with the growing popularity of implants, which are often performed by inexperienced and unqualified practitioners. The importance of retaining one’s natural teeth is, in my view, greatly overlooked and minimized so that expensive restorations with the potential to fail are becoming increasingly common. I urge anyone comptemplating implants, veneers, crowns, dentures etc., or have had a negative experience after such procedures to consult with Dr. Rachel. She’s very personable and professional while having a good sense of humor and an easy going nature without any pressure to proceed with any treatment plan whatsoever. Hopefully Mandurah will eventually attract an Endodontist and Periodontist of her caliber! She may be the first step in Mandurah’s ability to provide first class dental care for its citizens.
