Dr. Fiona Kelly at Pacific Smiles Dental Melbourne is honestly one of the most friendly, patient and attentive dentists I’ve ever come across. She is incredibly thorough, gentle and reassuring throughout every appointment. I genuinely think far fewer people would fear the dentist if they had someone like Fiona caring for them. The whole team at Pacific Smiles is efficient, welcoming and professional, and with health fund support, it makes regular six-monthly check-ups and cleans far more accessible. Highly recommend Fiona and the clinic for quality care and a genuinely positive experience.

Dr Fiona Kelly was very kind, gentle, and professional when cleaning and checking my teeth. I usually feel panic when I go to the dentist, but she made me feel very comfortable and safe from the beginning. She explained everything clearly and always stopped to check if I was okay. I tried emailing and following up with my concerns before writing this complaint but got no response. Went in for a check up, got shamed for not flossing even though I explained it hurt to floss the past week, was told "Your whole mouth is infected" but wasn't provided anti biotics. As I thought it turns out I don't have an infection that has spread through my entire mouth. A small part of my gum was just a little bit inflamed. I wasn't walked through my xrays properly, I asked what fillings are most urgent and they couldn't/woudn't tell me, and I asked a week ago for my xrays, quotes for the fillings they recommended, and how I was concerned I wasn't given antibiotics but received none. Was told "You're very lucky you have insurance". Do they think you get insurance from winning a lottery? I sat down, looked at the costs of premiums, and the costs of basic dental care and signed up to insurance with the money I earned after weighing the risks. I went home in pain with no clear path to stopping it or any sort of temporary relief. I got no response at all when I tried emailing. Finding their email wasn't easy, it forwarded to two other emails that bounced back, and no response from their online form either. I not only waited for a response, I not only reached out multiple times, but I tried two avenues of communication because I didn't want to leave a bad review. The next week I went to a different dentist, advised me what fillings were urgent, gave me quotes, gave me antibiotics (and I could floss with minimum pain), found the reason the infection started, and were very empathetic and helpful. Walked me through my xrays and explained everything well. They emailed the quote the next morning which they only did the next day because my appointment was end of the day and they didn't have time. Just to make it a tiny bit worse this clinic signed me up to marketing emails without my consent.

I’ve been seeing Dr Darren Lai at Pacific Smiles for years now and can’t speak highly enough of him. Not only is his dental care top notch, but he’s also a super nice guy, who always makes time for a chat before getting to work. The reception team are also friendly and accommodating of any appointment changes. Highly recommended!

If it wasn’t for Dr Fiona Kelly I would avoid this place at all costs. The worst customer service. They make returning appointments for you without consulting a date and time and you just receive a random text that you can’t get out of. Even though I respond “N” to the text to confirm cancelling the appointment, they continue to spam you leading up to the appointment date and when you try to call the clinic, it either rings out or they place you on hold until the line disconnects. Really not sure how they run this clinic but it’s a nightmare.
