The optical place is just meh. The dental... I have thoughts. Apparently "irreversible pulpitis" is one of the worst of dental pains to have and pretty high up in "all time pain" lists. Feel free to Google this. Why does this matter? Well, I've experienced this twice, once recently, once around 6 years ago. Neither of these instances did I get the work done at the Parramatta (or Surrey Hills) sites. Why? Because they both treat urgent dental issues the same as booking an eye test or ordering frames: "But we have a booking system! Go to Emergency if it's urgent (never mind there are no dentists at Emergency)! It wouldn't be fair to move other people who are getting profitable teeth brightening treatments out of their place in the line for you who merely needs urgent medical treatment!" Yes, well other dental practices have always come through in those circumstances. One even came back in at 6 in the evening when the earlier work hadn't released the pressure enough. Kingsgrove Dental Surgery and The Dentists@Belmore are the practices. Both managed to make an appointment available the next day by moving things around, both this time and last time, years ago. According to the TH response to this review, they must have lower standards of care or this is just a random pattern or something... OK. Teachers Health are bureaucratic pencil pushers, not a health service. Just keep that in mind. I am reconsidering my membership. They're all probably the same tbh. But I would consider it this way: Saying they have no-gap dental and eye care centres is a great sales pitch. And after that bottom feeding off a captive audience, selecting only the simplest of cases and needs helps them keep costs down and margins good. Spend your money accordingly.

I have had great experiences at Teachers Health Parramatta. The Receptionists are friendly and helpful, and the specialists (both eye care and dental) are very professional delivering a high service of care. Unlike many other dentists and optoms I have been to, the specialists at this clinic have a high priority of lifetime, proactive and preventative care. They are very thorough and ensure anything of potential concern is properly flagged and looked at.

The staff are kind, diligent and friendly. Their services are highly recommendable. I have visited them for their optometry and optics services after I moved to Parramatta. And was impressed by them. I will certainly consider going there again for my dental care when it is due.

Considering the changes and structures they have ungone in the last 2 years, they still remain to be above and beyond in terms of customer value, service and support.

Usually not bad, but they made me wait 30 mins for an appointment today, even with a booking, and the place was not even busy. Patients coming in after me were seen before me. Not happy. The service itself was good. *update - two years since the original review. Again, we arrived on time as requested for a standard eye test. This time we had to wait 22 additional minutes because the person being seen before us had an appointment that went way over-time. We were only seen when we raised our concern (and had to pay for additional parking) at which point they paused the other appointment so we could be seen. If we hadn't said anything, we may have had to continue to wait for who knows how long. The place was otherwise almost empty again. I don't think I'll be back to this particular site as the city centre just seems so much better run.
