We had booked appointments for the whole family and were told that there was only appointments beginning from 9am available. This wasn’t ideal as we had an hour and a half drive but we accepted. Arrived at 9am and we’re still waiting at 9:40 when reception called the dentist to see where she was. She claimed that she didn’t start until 10 so we sat in the waiting room for an hour waiting for her, particularly frustrating after our early morning start. Dr Catna was kind and slotted our eldest daughter in with her. She was also an excellent dentist and we will book with her from now on. After Dr Mungra arrived blaming reception she started with our youngest then my husband and I. We found her quite rough and when I gave a small wince as she caught my lip with the cleaning brush, she claimed that I had “sensitive gums”. I explained that it wasn’t my gum but my lip that hurt and she gaslit me saying that it didn’t happen and there was no mark so it was just my sensitive gums. Upon leaving the room I used my phone as a mirror and saw an obvious cut across the inside of my bottom lip. I understand that accidents happen and an “I’m sorry” would have been acceptable but not the ‘it didn’t happen and you’re just sensitive’ (which I’m absolutely not), that I got instead. We will never book with her again and are even highly considering staying away from this practice all together.
I had a good experience with the dentist but it’s a shame it’s been overshadowed by poor communication. Dentists would better serve their patients by having open conversations with patients about insurance and how similar products might be categorised under policies. When being presented with multiple similar products, it was never even mentioned that they fall under separate plans. This has resulted in serious bill shock for something I was previously covered for. I won’t be returning.
A very customer-focused clinic...better than any other dental clinic I've experienced. Well done!
I'm petrified of the dentist but Dr Patel might just have changed my mind. I have never been so relaxed in a dentist chair before. Not once did he touch a sensitive area. He talked me out of a numbing cream before he began and I never had a reason to change my mind. Unfortunately I do not live near Canberra but if I'm ever in the vicinity, I'll be back. Thanks Dr Patel
Best clinic. Honest doctors, nice receptionists, always trying to help to make up appointments for my three kids at the same time with different doctors. Not expensive if you're nib insurance client.
