Our Medical North Lakes is a very efficient, convenient and professional doctors practice. The App provided by them makes signing in for particular service extremely easy and no contact is required with the sometimes busy front desk. Wait time have always been kept to a minimum when I have visited.
Usually I have a designaged GP that my whole family has been seeing and we love how genuine and the people skills that she has Unfortunately today she is not available so myself and my son had to see another female GP, whom I only met her for thr first time. The GP that I saw today was from room 12. She made comment on how my toddler was running away from the corridor where her office is located after a 2 hour wait. The comment includes how do I look after him when we go to the shopping center and the city, and also commenting on my toddler has a loud voice. In addition to that, during the consultation, she was not asking questions to gain understanding of my injury and her body posture showed she was in a rush of getting us out of her office. It was quite an unpleasant experience.
Very disappointing experience with this clinic. I waited for 2 hours only to be told the doctor had to leave and I could not be seen. This is not the first issue I’ve had here either. Previously, I was asked to wait for the nurse and sat there for almost 1.5 hours before finding out the GP never even put me into the system before leaving. Another time, I requested a physio referral and was told it would be done, but after waiting a month with no response, I went back and was told they simply forgot. I understand clinics get busy, but repeated mistakes, lack of communication, and wasting patients’ time is really frustrating — especially with a baby. I hope management improves their organisation and patient care.
I’ve been attending Our Medical North Lakes for the past three years, and overall my experience with the doctors and team has been very positive. The GPs have consistently been professional, caring, and supportive. As a local business owner myself, I truly value good service — which is why I’ve often recommended this medical centre to friends, family, and even customers from my own business (we have a team of 20 staff). Today, however, I experienced something that left me feeling confused and a little disappointed. Around 3pm this afternoon, I spoke with a receptionist (who unfortunately was not wearing a name tag). Two weeks ago, I had a blood test done and hadn’t received any results or follow-up. I simply wanted clarification on whether I would receive a message once my results were available. I was told that I would only be contacted if there was something wrong. Based on that information, I booked an appointment with my GP. During that consultation, my doctor explained that patients are contacted whether results are urgent, abnormal, or even completely normal. I completely understand that front desk roles can be busy and demanding, and I say this with respect — but clear and accurate communication in a medical setting is incredibly important. Misunderstandings around test results can create unnecessary stress and appointments. I share this feedback not to criticise, but because I genuinely care about the standard of service here. I’ve trusted this clinic for years and have confidently recommended it to others. I hope this can be taken constructively so communication remains as strong as the clinical care.
Need to improve communication with GP and admin on front desk. Allocated to a GP who went for 50 mins break. Other patients who came after were seen before my partner. Hope they can improve staff communication and stay professional 👌
